“Thanks for all your help in achieving my NSW license, great service from your administration staff, and a big thank you to the easy licenses team, who gave great encouragement. Your advice allowed me to sit in NSW. On two occasions have told me that it was not possible to do this from a UK license. I would certainly recommend your services and will come back to do a forklift license in the future.”

“I found your business on the internet and found your page easy to understand and easy to find my way around; compared to other driving schools, you are way ahead in that space (keep up the good work). That is how I found you, but what sold me on going to your school was the extensive knowledge of manual cars, which is excellent. Another factor was the easy access to where I'm in Sydney.”

“My Instructor made me feel very comfortable, had excellent knowledge of driving, and was a good instructor. I will recommend your school in the future to anyone I hear looking to get a NSW license. With your assistance, I have successfully passed my test and come up with a good way to drive a Heavy vehicle safely. My best wishes and thanks to my instructors for their patience, knowledge, and advice.”

Frequently Asked Questions

The six steps of getting your first driver’s license are:

  1. Step 1: Get a learner’s permit.
  2. Step 2: Learn to drive/ride.
  3. Step 3: Complete the Hazard Perception Test.
  4. Step 4: Continue to gain experience.
  5. Step 5: Pass the Practical Driving Assessment.
  6. Step 6: Get a provisional license (P plates)

Getting your full license:

Getting a full license allows you to drive a car unsupervised on the road without the restrictions for P1 & P2 license holders. You must have held your P2 probationary driver’s license for at least 36 months and pass an eyesight test to get a full license.

When learning to drive in a manual vehicle, you must have someone with a full manual license sitting beside you and display ‘Driver Under Instruction’ plates and your ‘P’ plates on the front and back of your vehicle.

In NSW, if you obtain your P1 license (red P-plates) in an automatic car, you can only drive vehicles with that transmission until you pass your P2 license (green P-plates). However, this restriction stays in Victoria through both P1 and P2 licenses until you obtain your unrestricted license.

In NSW, a new driver tested in an automatic vehicle is only allowed to drive a manual once they attain their provisional P2 license, after a minimum of one year’s driving experience on their P1 license.
